Why True Watch Heads Never Set the Time on Their Watches

They say a broken watch is right twice a day—only these timepieces work just fine. They’re some of the most coveted in the world, owned by the biggest names in the biz. So why aren’t they using them as intended, whether that’s to make it to a coffee date or something far more important? For some, the Cartier Tank’s good looks let it skate by without having to lift a finger. For others, setting a watch means unnecessary wear and tear. Here, Cam Wolf ticks down the reasons why watch heads could care less about regular winding.

The Search for Perfect Pants Ends Here

[Partner] “Finding good quality pants that are stylish and that actually fit has been my own private quest for the holy grail the entirety of my adult life,” Derek F. writes in a review after discovering Flint and Tinder’s 365 pants. “They are quite literally the greatest, best-fitting pants I've ever purchased.” Frustratingly, flattering pants are hard to find. Sometimes the crotch is baggy, or the rise isn’t right. But what makes the 365 pants the holy grail for Derek and plenty of other guys is that they come in three different cuts with a little give in the fabric, letting you dial in that perfect fit, for good.

What Is American Style?

You can’t talk about American style without mentioning its forefathers: Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, and everything else that formed the Ivy League canon. You’d also be remiss if you didn’t acknowledge how its fundamentals—polo shirts, Oxfords, or crewneck sweaters—have been rehashed over and over by generations looking to create their own identities, no matter how far from upper crust society they actually sit. Says Derek Guy, “Despite its aspirational nature, American style is, at its core, a celebration of the everyday person.”

Will Ferrell's Omega Seamaster and the Watches of the Golden Globes 2024

Event host and comedian Jo Koy’s jokes were decidedly not the most lustrous thing in the room at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony. Not that it took much to outshine his dusty commentary (writers, looking at you), but the guys’ watches this year were especially glitzy, paling only in comparison to the trophies themselves. Koy’s saving grace, if there was one to speak of, was his “Starbucks” Rolex Submariner, which joined a cast of winning timepieces almost as impressive as the A-listers in attendance at the event.

Does Every Man Look Better in a Mustache?

If you already shaved that mustache, don’t worry, it’ll grow back. And you should let it. That clean face might not give you the leg up in life it’d promised after all. As it turns out, these dashing celebs look all the more rakish with some hair on that upper lip, and, occasionally, it doesn’t hurt when there’s some beard stubble in the supporting role to prop it up. Donald Glover looks better that way, Pedro Pascal punches up his everyday with some scruff, and with a little time and attention, so can you.
