Hamilton Is Bringing the Dune Watch to Earth

Last week, a bald-headed Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen stole headlines ahead of Dune: Part Two’s March 15 release date. The enfant terrible’s cue ball–smooth noggin and lack of eyebrows is particularly horrifying, helping to build a sci-fi universe that’s worlds away from our own. Another less jarring piece of the puzzle, Hamilton designed a watch for the film—the brand has contributed to some 500 movies before—and has now created two real-life iterations in its likeness. Of course, it tells you the time, and everyone else that you’re all in on Frank Herbert’s desert epic.

Comfort Comes First With These Great Looking Jeans

[Partner] Traditional denim jeans look good and wear tough, but alas, it just isn’t the most comfortable choice when you’re on the go. And we can’t do sweatpants all day, either, unless you’ve got the gall to wear them to the office or the grocery store. (Hey, you do you). For the more, shall we say, reasonable types that still want the worn-in look of denim but the coziness of soft pants without the “I stopped caring” vibe of sweats, there’s Duer. Their jeans are built with stretchy fibers that also wick moisture, putting comfort first while still letting you collect major style points.

Why Are Pants So Big (Again?)

“A decade after their ascendance [around 2005], slim-fit pants remained common currency across generations, demographics, and body types. BTS, at the time the biggest pop group in the world, wore them. Underground Chicago drill rappers wore them, too. Hollywood leading men and neighborhood baristas, wedding planners and basketball players, morning-show hosts and accountants,” says Jonah Weiner for the New York Times. Indeed, fitted pants were all you’d see, comically baggy JNCO’s and their counterparts firmly planted in the past—or so it seemed. Here’s why pants are going big (again.)

A Guide to Shrinking Levi’s 501 Shrink-to-Fit Jeans

Consider this brief the city college 101 course for original 501s: a rundown of everything you need to know about the classic jeans to get that just-right feel that gave them their reputation to begin with. For the uninitiated, getting a good, natural fit requires a little know-how, and there isn’t just one way to achieve it. Most people go up a few sizes. Some like to wear them in the bath to start (an old-school move). Others don’t plan on letting them touch water—ever—taking the purist’s route to a well-worn pair, whatever the cost (odor, to be sure). Find your fit and let the fades begin.

The Take

These Work Pants Built Are Built to Weather the Trends

Big pants might be in, but go too big and you’ll be left wading in the deep end when the trend cycle ends. Finisterre, the outdoors brand some call the Patagonia of the U.K. in how they strive for sustainability, recently dropped a perfectly roomy work pant a la Carhartt or Stan Ray that gives you the comfort of a wide leg without feeling like you stole Bozo’s circus-sized trousers. They come in four colorways (including a camo inspired by the cliffs below the company’s workshop) and are built with a heavy, organic cotton that’ll still be standing when the tides turn. $145
