The Most Famous Cowboy Hat in the World Right Now

Kevin Costner wore Wranglers and waxed jackets in Yellowstone. Beyoncé has taken to fringed Western wear to tease her next album. Both stars cosplay country, but they’re fans of the hats that come with the look IRL, too. And one of their favorite brands is Kemo Sabe, an Aspen company that’s become a favorite of celebrities, and a right of passage for just about anyone passing through the tony Colorado ski town. “People get them to cross it off their bucket list,” says Hannah Chody, a content creator. “Especially if they’re visiting from New York, Chicago, or L.A.”

Enduring Style for the Links and Beyond

[Partner] You don’t need to hit the links on the weekends to appreciate a great golf shirt. The best ones cut a sharp silhouette while giving you the freedom to move with or without club in hand. Holderness & Bourne’s polos have that perfect balance—tailored, but not tight—that let you take big swings off the tee box or just kick back on the weekends with something cold to sip on. The sleeves don’t run past the elbows, fabric doesn’t bunch up at the shoulders, and the collars have built-in stays to keep you looking fresh all day long.

For most, a good shirt makes living better. But the one Martin Greenfield wore at Auschwitz as a child saved his life. A fellow prisoner taught him how to mend a shirt, he says, and he wore it under his uniform, which seemed to improve his standing among the guards. “The day I first wore that shirt was the day I learned clothes possess power. Clothes don’t just ‘make the man,’ they can save the man. They did for me,” he wrote in his memoir. Here’s how Greenfield, who died last week in New York at 95, became one of the most sought-after tailors by world leaders and star athletes alike.

Why This Shoe Brand Just Gave Away the Blueprint for Its Best-Selling Boot

A rising tide lifts all boats, it’s said. But what about boots? Shoe brand Thesus, which has been around for about a decade, wants to find out. Recently, the team decided to open-source all the hard work that went into creating its eco-friendly Weekend boot, hoping it will improve sustainability standards across the industry. “The company is giving potential collaborators and competitors access to their list of materials, suppliers, as well as their ecosystem mapping, and even how much they paid at each step,” reports Fast Company.

The Take

This Is the Quarter Zip We’ve Been Waiting For

Aaron Levine is on a tear. Being let go from Abercrombie & Fitch a few years back was a blessing in disguise for the prolific menswear designer and good vibes guru, as it freed him up to dabble, for our benefit. He made Madewell men’s kinda cool, figured out athletic gear for regular guys, and now, has a collab with Huckberry that makes fundamentals more exciting than they’ve been in a while. Quarter zips don’t really ping our radar, because most are stuffy toppers for a financial district set. But this one, made in Detroit, is shades more louche with a heavy fabric and roomy cut that’s pulled in at the waist. Prep it up with some tailoring or dress down in ripped jeans—or do both, which is exactly what Levine would do. $138
