When a Hairy Wrist Gives Your Watch Bangs
You haven’t thought about this before. But you will now. If you’re a hirsute fella, that watch on your wrist is probably resting on a bed of hair—or tangled in it. Robb Report’s digital watch editor is one of the furry ones who, after being asked to model a watch, now can’t put it out of his head. Says Allen Farmelo, “I have a friend who greets me each morning with a text: ‘What’s on-wrist, dude?’ I’ve never told him that I comb my arm hair before snapping the wrist shot I send him in response.”
A Good Look Starts With a Great Base Layer
[Partner] Let’s talk fundamentals for just a sec: A good collection of shirts is essential to any man’s wardrobe, and can set up the rest of your look. With summer around the corner, a good shirt gets even more critical since you won’t be adding as much to it. Fair Indigo makes a range of shirts in 100 percent organic pima cotton—i.e. the best stuff you can get—that can hold down an outfit on their own: crewnecks, V-necks, Henleys, and pull-over hoodies. (They also have a jogger in black). For a tee at less than $40, the price—and look—are hard to beat.

To the point of Jack Herzog, why hasn’t anybody made these before? Slides and basketball are as iconic a duo as they come. “I've been showing people the design for literally years,” says the cofounder of clothing brand Scary Kittles, referring to the basketball clog it just dropped that’s named after one-time Los Angeles Clippers player Chris Kaman. “Every time I always got a really solid reaction, even from non-basketball fans. It just kind of makes sense. It’s one of those ideas where I'm just like, ‘I can't believe this doesn't exist yet.’”
The 2024 Watches and Wonders Fantasy Draft
You’re at the biggest watch event of the year. From Rolexes to Vacheron Constantines, there’s an overwhelming amount of new talent to scout. You get to choose one watch that’s more than $100,000, one that’s less than $5,000, another from a brand that wasn’t on the main floor, and two wild cards. Who are you going with? Here, watch head Cam Wolf of GQ taps some fellow big dogs in the field to make their fantasy watch lineups for 2024, and the commentary is just as fun as the “teams” they make.
The Take
Hokas
No matter how good the Hokas sales get, pulling the trigger on a big, bulky shoe that isn’t a daily driver is hard to do. But we did it. With the weather turning, we were scouting something that could hit the trails, but didn’t feel crazy goofy grabbing a beer or heading to the grocery store after. The Hoka Mafate Speed 2 trail running shoe hits that sweet spot: a modest gray and black palette, sturdy while still being light as a feather, and the comfort that Hoka is known for dialed up to 11. $170
Mixed Bag
This good, reasonably priced luggage is now available in stores. (But you can find similar ones for even less). A simple hack to looking taller with menswear’s golden ratio. Those new loafers? They should hurt at first, says this style-loving cartoonist. Three policy changes that’ll help make fashion more sustainable.
