TAG Heuer’s Iconic ’80s Formula 1 Watch Is Reborn

When the first version of the Formula 1 hit the market, three million watches were sold before TAG Heuer ceased production in 1990. Now, the brand is revving up for another release of the iconic timepiece, but the run will be far more limited: “This revival is geared specifically to the modern hype-world fetishes of collectability, rarity, and collabs. In a partnership with the hipster-approved fashion/lifestyle brand Kith, just under 5,000 watches will be available in total, spread across 10 hard-to-get limited editions,” reports Wired. Priced at $1,350—about double what you can pay for an original on eBay—the watches will go on sale Monday at Kith’s Miami stores.
