Kyrie Irving’s Shoes Draw Stares From Collectors and Congress

A smattering of star NBA players have ditched Western athletic brands for Chinese companies, but it was Nike who unloaded Kyrie Irving after the Dallas Maverick posted an antisemetic video to social media at the end of 2022, leaving the pro baller with few willing collaborators. On Thursday night’s playoff game against the Boston Celtics last week, Irving went public with his Anta Kai 1 speed, his signature shoe for Quanzhou-based athletic brand Anta, where he’s signed a five-year contract and taken a role as chief creative officer. There seems to be hype, but does the U.S. market care?

This Rolex Is Hard to Find—But You Can Get One Right Here

[Partner] The Premium Time Company has made a name for itself by holding contests for the most coveted watches, and its next is an encore presentation of a timepiece that ticks that box. Once again up for grabs is Rolex’s Cosmograph Daytona ‘Reverse Panda,’ nicknamed for its black dial, a reverse of it’s white dialed opposite that Paul Newman made famous when he wore one of the originals in the 1960s. This one, valued at around $35,000, is the latest 2024 model, and is brand spanking new, box, papers, and all. The contest maxes out at 700 tickets at around $75 each. Why wait years when you can get one now?

Trendy “Anatomy Fashion” Turns Our Insides Into Outside Style With Help From AI

What if you could wear your insides on the outside? That’s the gist of these AI-rendered images by artist David Szauder, where subjects pose in knit sweaters and hoodies that bear it all—lungs, intestines, rib cages, brains. “Even when affected by disease, these parts remain hidden from our awareness,” he tells My Modern Met. “To bridge this gap between visibility and invisibility, I began designing anatomical sweaters. Through these designs, I aim to make the unseen aspects of our anatomy visible and relatable, encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of our bodies.”

Five Fits With: Street Style Photographer Jamie Ferguson

Jamie Ferguson’s loafer style alone could fill a book. But the photographer’s Ivy-leaning sartorial talents go far deeper than just a pair of suede horse bits from Morjas or beat-up Alden pennies. The blue-washed denim is louche; blazers are chic without being cute; white socks are often punching up a pair of trousers. Whether for a book, a brand, or his own amusement, Ferguson spends most of his time behind a camera helping formulate a modern vision of menswear. This interview with fellow photographer Chris Fenimore makes it clear that he’s doing that out in front of the lens, too.

Whoa, Seiko Just Dropped a Ton of Cool New Watches

Who needs a trade show? Not Seiko. Betwixt the major watch events of 2024, the Japanese brand just put out a pile of new timepieces that include divers, vintage reissues, and GMTs. Falling under that last category is the Cocktail Time, a dress watch that’s part of the brand’s Presage series first released in 2010. This one’s been updated with a GMT movement, comes with a crocodile-embossed leather strap, and a 40.5 stainless steel case topped with high-domed Hardlex crystals. Translation: this watch looks good as hell with or without a Martini in hand.
