This Impossibly Thin Fabric Could Cool You Down by 16-Plus Degrees

If the short shorts and tank tops aren’t keeping you cool enough out there, there may soon be another less-revealing option. A new super-thin fabric that layers plastic and silver nanowires reflects both the sun’s rays and ambient heat radiating from city sidewalks and buildings. “In outdoor tests in Arizona, the textile stayed 4.1 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than popular fabrics used for outdoor sports, and 16 degrees cooler than silk, a breathable choice for dresses and shirts,” reports Fast Company. Breaking a sweat is so last year.

Now, Kivel is following suit.

This Escargot-Inspired Nike Dunk Is Dropping Just in Time for the Paris Olympics

And you thought eating snails was gross. Ahead of the Paris Olympics, Nike has released a pair of Dunks in an escargot colorway that is, in our humble opinion, as equally unappetizing as a plate of the chewy gastropods, no matter how much butter and garlic is involved. If a cast-iron pan brimming with basted snails is your idyllic amuse-bouche, then the Escargot Dunks are very much on the menu. If you need us, we’ll be over here ordering the French fries while wearing literally any other color of Nike’s popular shoe.
