Soon after, “Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky, Bella Hadid, and other influential celebs became exemplars of the trend, popping up at fashion weeks and music festivals in Marmot jackets and Merrell boots”—Ocean’s iconic look in Paris in 2019 paired an Arc’teryx toque with a puffer jacket and straight-leg denim. While outdoors gear like Gor-Tex shells and Patagonia fleeces will always have their place, according to Noah Johnson at GQ, this is where the trail ends for the trend at large.
